Nebula is an animation studio making short-form documentaries about the startups, scientists, and ideas changing the world. Most fascinating stories in tech never get told. The founders are too busy. Journalists can't get access. The format doesn't fit. We built Nebula to fix that. Every video we make is fact-checked before we animate a single frame. We'd rather make fewer videos and get them right.
About the role
As an AI Artist/Animator, you'll take a locked script and storyboard and turn them into a complete generative AI video prototype. This is the cut we use to decide whether a story is worth investing real animation hours in. The ideal candidate has spent the last few years immersed in generative video tools and has strong attention to detail.

Before we dive into the technical aspects of the role, here are the character traits we look for in a new hire:

First-principles thinking. You're allergic to dogma, habitually question institutional knowledge, and never fall back on "common sense" to explain anything. You make your decisions based on credible evidence. You only start working on a project if you can explain why you're doing it.
Responsibilities
Prototype ownership: Take locked scripts and storyboards from the Creative Director and turn them into complete generative AI prototypes, end to end, ready for the kill-or-keep review.
Rough cut assembly: Build the rough cut in DaVinci Resolve, with pacing tight enough for it to read as a finished short-form video rather than a slideshow.
Tool fluency: Use Higgsfield AI as the core image-to-video engine, and choose the right supporting model for each shot rather than defaulting to a single one.
Visual voice: Co-develop Nebula’s aesthetic point of view alongside the Creative Director. Your taste is part of the hire.
Tooling feedback: Flag where the generative pipeline becomes the bottleneck so the orchestration layer can be improved. You will write the spec for what hurts.

You treat generative AI as a craft, not a shortcut. You know the difference between a prompt that gets you 80% of the way there and the small set of moves that close the final 20%. You don’t romanticize older tools, and you don’t fetishize newer ones. You pick what works for the shot.
Required qualifications
You understand that the prototype is a decision-making artifact, not a deliverable. Its job is to make the right short-form videos obvious before animation hours are spent on the wrong ones.
You have a strong, specific aesthetic point of view and can defend it without being precious about it.
You're fluent across the current generative video stack and stay current as it changes.
You thrive in a self-managed remote process. You set timelines, hit them, and flag risk early.
You have 3+ years of experience working in generative video, motion design/graphics, or AI-assisted animation.
You have a reel that shows clear authorship and a coherent aesthetic, not a tools showcase.
You have demonstrated fluency in Higgsfield AI, with the credible ability to ramp on adjacent tools in days.
You have working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve for rough-cut assembly.
You are proficient in written and spoken English.
